In preparations for the 2026 Teaching Excellence Award, Inoyo Toro Foundation hosted a one-day workshop on Teacher Mentoring on February 6, 2026. The aim of the training was to get the award winners equipped with appropriate skills to replicate themselves by mentoring other teachers for excellence in teaching.
The venue for the 2026 teachers’ training was held at AMUNICE EVENT CENTRE , No. 85 Aka Itiam Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The 5 resource persons are seasoned facilitators drawn across various disciplines, to coach all participating teachers to excellence. The training content was carefully selected to meet the needs of the teachers.

This year, the ITF Alumni President – Mrs. Ekemini Isok (of Christian Secondary Commercial School, Uyo) and 2 previous Grand Mentors – Mr. Edidiong Idio (of Ibesikpo Secondary Commercial School, Nung Udoe) and Mr. Ubon-obong Archibong (of McIntre Secondary Commercial School Utu Abak), were invited to participate in the training so as to share their mentoring experiences with the present teachers thereby serving as a form of encouragement to the teachers which in turn would help motivate and build capacity for excellence in the present batch and in building relationships.
The 2026 teachers training recorded a 99.9% attendance. All resource persons and invited Guest Speakers were present and delivered their subject matter excellently. It was a huge success and all activities went smoothly as planned. Looking forward to 2027 teachers training.
