Partnership brief

The 2010 Chemistry awardees of the Inoyo Toro Foundation attended and participated in The International Year of Chemistry (IYC) Global Water Experiment entitled “Water: a chemical solution”. The experiment took place at the Chemistry Lab III, Town Campus, University of Uyo on November 19, 2011.

The objective of this experiment was to help students appreciate the role of chemistry in issues of water quality and purification.

The students who took part in the experiment are expected to contribute their learning to an on-line global map by reporting on their investigation of water quality within their locality.

The water testing kits for this experiment were donated by, The Chemical Society of Nigeria, and Schlumberger Nigeria Limited.
